By now most of us are aware that two individuals can find love in the most strangest of times and in the most unexpected places. Abi and Shank’s love story is a perfect example.
Both of them were coaxed by their friends to get on to a dating site in UK, who would’ve thought that they would actually meet the love of their life as soon as they registered. After three consecutive dates, they realized that there was something special going on and now they are 200% in love (in Russell Peters style). Yup! That’s exactly how they met! They are just way too lucky to have found each other in my view.
They are adorable together, you can see the chemistry between them.
Abi is a perfectionist and Shank thinks he’s not but I think he is a perfectionist too. Abi is Srilankan and Shank a Hindu.
Their wedding was at Elements on Kanakapura Road, a beautiful outdoor venue managed by a wonderful couple Sunitha and Bharath.
We heard the Nada-swara in the distance and we knew the bride was on her way to the mantap.
Abi looked stunning in her wedding attire. Thanks to Manjeet Khehra for the beautiful make-up.
While Abi was doing the Gowri Pooja.
Shank was all set for his Kasi Yatra. (Kasi Yatra is a ritual where the groom wants to go to Kasi and become a Sanyasi, but he is stopped by his in-laws and they promise to give their daughter to him if he doesn’t go.)
Shank looks like he is pretty happy with the deal.
He looked like a prince in that attire. Actually we heard some of his relatives calling him a ‘Prince’ too.
He gives his bride the saree she needs to wear for the Mangalya-Dharane.
Yup! As soon as Shank was in the vicinity, Abi started smiling and didn’t stop smiling! :)
Managed to take this picture of Abi when she came back to the mantap in her new wedding saree.
She was thrilled to get married! :)
And then they were Husband and Wife!
The Akki-dhaare was good fun! Abi was super competitive! :)
Shank took a lot of care during the Sapthapadi and also while he put the toe-rings.
Loved the mehendi in this picture.
This was an interesting Srilankan ritual of feeding each other a mix of milk, banana and sugar with a beetle nut leaf.
Shank was a gentleman and let Abi win two out of three times in the ‘finding the ring’ contest .
Yes! Yes! He is very sweet! :P
After the wedding, managed to pull them away from all the guests to get some fun pictures.
I love this one! :)
Elements has a lot of greenery, this one particular ledge is my favorite. Put an adorable couple in the center, Voila! You have a great picture! :)
I want to end this post with my favorite picture. I was walking away to pack my cameras and I just turned around to find Abi doing this! Love this picture! :)
Abi and Shank. You are just perfect for each other. Congratulations on finding each other and Wish you the best in life wherever you are!
We had a lot of fun documenting your wedding.
Hope you like the pictures! :D
