Madhu and Vikram say that it’s an arranged marriage but I dont believe them. They are so in love with each other. I still remember the email that Madhu sent me through the booking form on my site. She gave a quick overview of her story and I get very few of this sort of emails, very sweet story. I HAD to shoot this wedding. :)
Madhu and Vikram live in different parts of USA. Madhu comes from a family of creative artists. She is such a peppy girl, loves to be in front of the camera. At first look Vikram comes across as a nerd! But after spending sometime with him I realized that he loves outdoor activities. They both share the love for travel. By the way, they are honeymooning in Greece right now! :)
The wedding was at the Shree Kala Kalyana Mantapa. A pretty nice place, very airy.
As soon as I reached the venue I went in search of Madhu. That’s when I realised that there were two teams of conventional photographers. Well, what happened next is a story for another blog.
Madhu was getting her make-up done. And my trigger happy finger took over. :)
On the otherside, Vikram was preparing to start off with the rituals for the day. I liked the way this priest was sitting and fixing the peta.
Vikram was being Smartha-ed!
There was a mirror on the ground, as part of the Kasiyatra items. As soon as I saw his reflection in it I had to take a picture.
Vikram had a lot of fun during the Kasiyatra ritual. He was pretty excited to see how the day would unfold.
He was then showered with rice and puri (puffed rice). Love this picture.
I quickly ran back to Madhu just in time to shoot the ‘basingha’ being tied.
Look at her. Super thrilled to get married. :)
Madhu, you make a gorgeous bride. Ready to sweep Vikram off his feet. Took this picture behind the backdrop at the Mandap area.
She was made to stand facing the ‘antharapata’ while Vikram was standing on the other side. They hadn’t looked at each other yet.
I love this picture. :)
Vikram had no clue that Madhu was lifted up in the air. :)
This is when the most action takes place. When they exchange the ‘jeerge-bella’.
That first look at each other! :)
Fast forwarding to the main ritual.
It was awesome to see so many people all around them while they tied the mangala-sutra. There were these guys who burst a balloon full of confetti. It was truly an explosive moment! :P
The happy bride! :)
And then they were Husband and Wife! Finally! :)
I love this shot of Madhu and her Dad. This picture speaks a thousand words.
Vikram was very gentle and helped Madhu take the 7 steps during the Sapthapadi.
They were then introduced to the binary stars Vashista and Arundathi Nakshatra. They looked adorable together, both looking in different directions. :P
The reception in the evening was at La Marvella near South-end circle.
They looked stunning that evening!
Madhu and Vikram. You are so perfect for each other. I had a lot of fun documenting your wedding. :)
Congratulations on finding each other and wish you the best wherever you are!
Hope you like the pictures. :D
