116. Tanya and Bopanna
Tanya contacted me from UK and she gave me a high level overview of the wedding. When she told me that she was marrying this guy who proposed to her 7 years ago, I knew I wanted to document this wedding.
The Mehendi event was at the open yard on the 2nd Floor of Vivanta by Taj on MG Road. The decor was just beautiful. The weather was wonderful with a slight drizzle once in a while and some cold wind.
She sat in the center getting her mehendi done with a big bright smile on her face. We got some great pictures that day.
The setting was a photographer’s delight. The colours, the happy people.
The Mehendi artist did a great job too.
This was a funny moment, Bopanna was searching for his name in the mehendi by holding her (fake) nail and all the time she kept telling him ‘My nail will come off, my nail will come off’ :P
After an awesome shoot at Vivanta by Taj. Next day the wedding was on the Pool side.
The Mantap was ready, some weddingy music playing in the background. Away from the traffic noise, everything looked perfect.
Raghunandan and Sharath were the photographers and I was shooting video.
Just then got a call from the very anxious bride who wanted to know if it the decor was enough, I was like, you must be kidding me. It looked beautiful! Honestly, over and above having the couple ready for the wedding what else do you need.
Tanya is supremely photogenic. In any picture she’d look amazing. The jewelry was handed down from her mom, so it definitely looked vintage and very elegant.
The dad welcomed the groom.
All the guys in the family escorted the bride to the mantap.
Then, the groom joined the bride too. Never seen that happen during this ritual.
Sneaky sneaky during the Kanya-dhanam.
Some lovely pictures of the Laja homa ritual.
My favorite part of an Arya Samaj wedding, Sapthapadi, while the groom has to hold the bride through the ritual.
This is why I love shooting Arya Samaj weddings, all the guests, everyone are asked to come bless the couple.
Finally, I got to take some pictures of the couple after the wedding. Love this picture of them.
The fancy network of cloth. So cool right. This was part of the Reception/Cocktail party at Leela Palace.
Some pictures of them in their evening attire.
It all ended with their dance to some old pop songs. All of their favorite numbers.
It was fantastic documenting a wedding with real genuine emotions.
Congratulations and wish you the best in the world. Thank you for hiring us.
Hope you like the pictures. :)
Enjoy the Wedding Highlights video.
